Dorothy L. Carlson

Dorothy L. Carlson - Age 90, Dorothy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren on April 20, 2009. Dorothy was born on March 17, 1919 in Petaluma. She was the daughter of a pioneering poultry family, Vernon and Heazel Guthrie, and was raised on the family farm located on Ely Road in Petaluma. A graduate of Petaluma High School, Dorothy began her career as a hairdresser. She met the love of her life, the late Roy Carlson, and was married on August 11, 1945 in the Methodist Church of Petaluma, which she was a lifelong member. Dorothy and her husband made their home on a small ranch on Petaluma Boulevard, where they raised their family. She is survived by her three children-Don Carlson and his wife Gay of Petaluma, Jim Carlson and his wife Christine of Petaluma, Judith Thacker and her husband Fredrick of San Miguel. Devoted grandmother of Daniel Thacker of Sunnyvale, Amanda Thacker of San Miguel and Jamie Carlson of Petaluma. Loving sister of Helen Bishop of Petaluma. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
