Dorothy Adeline (Corda) Nadale

Dorothy Nadale passed away peacefully at Petaluma Valley Hospital on April 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  Dorothy was born in Petaluma, CA to Alfred and Evelyn Corda on August 14, 1927.  She graduated from San Rafael High School at the age of sixteen.  She married John Nadale on April 28, 1945.  John and Dorothy had five children and operated a dairy ranch in west Petaluma their entire working years.  Dorothy was an excellent cook, and participated in her kid’s activities from Cub Scouts, Brownies, school events, music lessons to Little League, just to name a few.  She was also active in community events and social clubs which included Wilson School PTA, Wilmar Fire Department, Native Daughters, Sons of Italy, Italian Catholic Federation, Marin Sonoma Italian Club and the Petaluma Accordion Club.  Dorothy was an accomplished musician (harmonica) and she rarely sat out a dance.  She was a faithful parishioner of St. Vincent’s DePaul church her entire life.  Her pride and joy was her family: children Dennis, Pam, Shari, Rick and Marc, grandchildren Christopher, Lisa (Victor), Jonathan and Allison.  She was blessed with two great grandsons, Dominic Giosso and Nolan Nadale in 2017.

Dorothy was preceded in death, by her husband John, son Dennis and daughter Pam.  She is survived by her children Shari (Lorenzo), Rick (Laurie Banks) and Marc (Cindy), her grandchildren and great grandsons.

Dorothy will always be remembered for her quick wit, radiant smile and overall passion for life.

The family would like to especially thank her caregivers, Cindy, Maria Kayla and Elenoa.  They would also like to thank the staff at Petaluma Valley Hospital and Petaluma Hospice for their professional and compassionate care in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA.  A Rosary will be held on Thursday April 12, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St. Petaluma, CA at 7 P.M.  Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.  Entombment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma, CA.

The family asks that donations be made to St. Vincent’s Church or Petaluma Hospice.
