Dorothy E. Henning - An incredible lady passed away on October 3, 2009.
She was Dorothy Henning, a native of Lakeville, world traveler and a person of great compassion and unconditional love for her family and extended family, which was everyone. When you met Dorothy and asked what she would prefer to be called, she would cock her head and answer, "just call me Mom""". She had an impish charm and a smile for everyone; her door was always open.
"" She gave her extreme love of life to her children; Russ (Sairlee) Henning of Rohnert Park, Donna Henning of Petaluma, Sally Brueggert of IL, Bruce (Terry) Henning, George (Dana) Henning, and James Henning all of Petaluma. There are 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren to carry forth her love.
A "Celebration of Dorothy's Life""" will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 939 B Street, Petaluma. Private Inurnment was at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeville Volunteer Fire Dept, First Presbyterian Church in Petaluma, or The American Cancer Society."" Dotty, was born in 1920 to Engre (Kulberg) and Russell Donogh and grew up on the family ranch on Lakeville Hwy. before attending UC Davis earning her degree in Home Economics. She was active in Phi Theta Kappa honor society. During the WW II, she married an Air Force Sergeant and spent many years traveling the world and raising her children in Germany, Japan, France and several bases state side.
