Dorraine Alma Turner (nee Thulin) was born 3/19/32 in Albany CA, and passed on 3/8/21 in Petaluma, CA. She descended from Scandinavian pioneers who settled Southern Utah as part of the “Great Mormon Migration.”
After baptism as a teen in the LDS church, she learned piano so she could accompany her congregation. In her youth, she was a western rider and guitarist and sang and yodeled Hank Williams songs. Dorraine left a legacy as a church organist, genealogist, painter, mosaic tiler, leather worker, embroiderer, sculptor, and beadworker. She retired from the County of Sonoma after 25 years.
Dorraine was preceded in death by her mother Jennie Ellen Thulin, father Howard Alma Thulin, brother Roger Howard Thulin, and her sister Ellen Carol Stubbs. She is survived by daughter Stacey Leigh Mohr, son William Anthony Turner, granddaughter Alissa Corinne Anderson, grandsons William Anthony and Thomas Bartley Keaney, Jr., and great-grandchildren River Maxwell Anderson, Adamhnan Judaydon Caoilte Lugh Keaney, and Annabelle Paige Keaney.
Dorraine will be missed for her her enthusiasm and her “git ’er-done” attitude. A memorial will be held 11:00 A.M. 6/12/2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5301 Badger Road, Santa Rosa, CA.
