Douglas Andrew Beaman

March 15, 1965 — April 4, 2025

Dearly loved Douglas Andrew Beaman was born on March 15, 1965 in Petaluma, California.  He passed peacefully on April 4, 2025 in Petaluma.  For 60 years, Doug brightened our lives with his loving and caring nature, sense of humor, incredible memory, and endless optimism.

Doug absolutely loved people.  Everywhere he went, he looked forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.  He greeted everyone with a smile, and was a great listener.  His uplifting personality was inspiring.  Doug was a true friend to all those fortunate enough to know him.

Doug enjoyed all kinds of music, and loved to sing.  When Doug was a teen, his father taught him how to play guitar, and the two of them had many wonderful times together playing and singing.  His favorite TV shows were The Andy Griffith Show and Leave It To Beaver.  Sprite was his drink of choice.  Doug enjoyed doing impersonations and was quite good at them, especially the voice of character Maxwell Smart from the TV show Get Smart.  Doug enjoyed flags, with the California Bear Flag being his favorite.

Doug was a lifelong resident of California, spending most of his life in Petaluma.  For over 21 years he was a resident of Sandalwood Estates / The Cottages in Petaluma where he was lovingly known as “The Mayor.”  He developed many close friendships there, and joyfully helped with the neighborhood recycling effort by sorting cans and plastic bottles that he collected.

For the past 15 months, Doug resided at Vineyard Post Acute in Petaluma.  Not surprisingly, he made friends there as well.  We appreciate the Vineyard staff, and the Providence Hospice team, who were so caring and kind to Doug.

Doug was predeceased by his loving parents, Dale Beaman Sr. and Doris Beaman; brother Dale Beaman Jr; and niece Barbra (Beaman) Meadows and her husband Tom.  Surviving Doug are his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie (Beaman) and Jack Pasisz of Petaluma; sister-in-law Gail Beaman of Las Vegas, Nevada; niece Ginny (Pasisz) Deegan and her husband John of Layton, Utah; nephew Derek Pasisz of Laguna Hills, California; niece Laura Pasisz of Rohnert Park, California; nephew Jason Beaman of Mansfield, Ohio; and nephew Ken Beaman and his wife Melisse of Lincoln, California.  Doug is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral will be held at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma, on Saturday, April 12, 2025.  Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m., and the service begins at 11:30 a.m.  Burial will take place at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, 430 Magnolia Avenue, Petaluma, immediately following the service.
