Dwaine Mccoy, Jr.

Dwaine McCoy Jr. passed away suddenly on Thursday. He touched many lives with his vibrant spirit. He had an incredible zest for knowledge and brought many smiles and much laughter to his family and friends.

DJ was born in Santa Rosa, CA. Shortly after, he moved to Petaluma where he attended grade school and graduated from Carpe Diem High School, a bright light, at the age of 16. He continued his quest for knowledge in the restaurant business with Shige Sushi Japanese Kitchen where he quickly moved his way up the ranks and worked hard and ethically to gain achievement and skills. Wanting to learn and pursue more in life, he moved on to join his family business, ACE Insulation. He didn’t want special treatment, he wanted to start from the bottom and learn every inch of the company’s ways and needs. That’s just who DJ was. His presence was glaring, courageous and comforting. He was working his way to become an Estimator and had just registered for business courses at SRJC with the intentions of becoming CFO as soon as possible.

He had a passion for history, traveling and the stock market. At 19 years old, he knew more, had more and had done more than many people twice his age. He could build and do anything that he set his mind to. He was loved beyond measure and loved his family deeply.

DJ is survived by his loving parents Amy and Dwaine, sister Kayla, and brothers Jase and Dominic. He also leaves his maternal grandmother Cheryl Miller and his adoring aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his paternal great grandmother Jean-Marie Heskett, girlfriend Gina Salvato, pets and close friends.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Sunday Dec. 19, 2021 at 11:00am at Parent Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite educational organization.
