Edith Marie Bordessa - Passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in Petaluma at age 93. Devoted wife of the late David J. Bordessa (deceased 12/18/1999). Cherished mother of Donald A. Bordessa (Lesley) of Santa Rosa and Elvera J. Bordessa of Walnut Creek. Adored grandmother (Nonna) of William Bordessa (Lorene) of Napa, Dena Soulakis (Andrew) of CO, Robin Kincheloe of Santa Rosa and Robert Rockefeller (Lindsay) of WA. Beloved great-grandmother (Biz Nonna) of nine great-grandchildren. Loving sister of the late Yolanda Grignolo and Joseph Tesconi. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A Member of St. James Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation that will be held on Monday, September 3, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 3:00 PM at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 10:15 AM at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, thence to St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy, Petaluma where at 11:00 AM a Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Edithâ??s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Ford Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 327, Valley Ford, CA 94972, Tomales Regional History Center, P.O. Box 262, Tomales, CA 94971, Hospice By The Bay, 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Larkspur, CA 94939, or your favorite charity. Interment: Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. Edith was born in San Francisco on June 11, 1919, reared and educated in Alameda where she resided before moving to Santa Rosa in 1942. She married David at St. Rose Catholic Church in Santa Rosa on Nov. 11, 1945 and together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Edith and Dave owned and operated the Valley Ford Market for 15 years which included working in the U.S. Post Office located inside the Market. In 1968, they built the current post office across the street, which they operated until retiring in 1990. Edith cherished spending time with her family and took great pleasure in cooking the traditional Italian foods that everyone loved. Edith and Dave also delighted in attending all the local Italian dinner dances. Edith was a wonderful, devoted Mom and will be truly missed by the many people that were touched by her caring ways.
