Edith Florence Drew

Edith Drew passed away peacefully in her family home on 2/2/22, at the age of 101. She was born on July 27, 1920 to Emmel R Wallace and Alice L Maissetti Wallace on Gehrke Road, Tomales, Ca.  She went to school in Tomales and graduated from Tomales High School then attended beauty school to become a hair stylist.

Edith met the love of her life, Walter (Bill) Drew, they were married December 26th 1943 and they were married for 62 years. During that time Edith began working and managing the Damon and Oster hair salon, she worked for Trudies Hair Salon and Waynes Hair Salon. They had the Drew Dairy which was owned and operated by the Drew family for more than 50 years and also had the Drew Hotel in Cedarville Ca.

At the age of 55, Bill and Edith bought the Washoe House Bar and Restaurant, along with two other couples, Bill & Ellie Appleton and Owen & Angie Fredericks. After a few years they became the sole owners, it was in the family for 41 years.

Edith took accordion music lessons and was an excellent accordion player. She was an avid golfer playing weekly on the ladies league, golfing on numerous tournaments. She enjoyed gardening, baking her delicious biscotti cookies and spending time playing cards with her family and friends. She was a long time member of the North Bay Dairy Womens Association. In addition to raising their children she attended PTA , 4-H Club meetings and all the Sonoma County and state fairs.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents Emmel & Alice Wallace and her beloved husband Bill Drew and granddaughter Emily Drew.  She is survived by her sons Dennis Drew (Dorothy), Larry Drew (Robin), daughters Cheryl Jensen and Patti Tobin (Steve). Grandchildren: Billy Jensen (Britt), Jerrad Jensen (Jessi), Jodi Tobin, Kenny Drew, Michael Drew and Molly Drew, great grand children Joey Jensen, Jamie Jensen, Garrett Potter and Gavin Jensen.

Due to Covid restrictions, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
