Edith Lucille Keiser

August 17, 1917 — September 26, 2016

Entered into rest at the age of 99 on September 26, 2016, due to complications from pneumonia with family by her side. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Mary Ellen Heath and her loving partner and best friend Robert Otkins. She is survived by her children Jeannine (William) Baker, Glenn Keller, and Patricia Keiser, her grandchildren Donald Baker and Sandra (Donald) Allen, great grandchildren Jessie Baker, Kortney Baker, Cameryn Baker, Paige Allen and Elizabeth Allen and 4 great great grandchildren. Born in Bucklin, KS, she resided in Oklahoma until moving to Sonoma County with her family in 1937. Her family took the ferry across the San Francisco Bay on May 26th, a day prior to the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge. Lucille was a natural born leader who brought a sense of joy and friendship to all who knew her. She loved dancing and planning get-togethers with family and friends. She was a notable employee of Pacific Bell Telephone Company with 28 years of service. In retirement, Lucille balanced her days with gardening, and caring for family and friends whom she loved intensely. It was not uncommon for her to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger and within moments she had made a lifelong friend. She was the glue that held her family and friends together. Wherever she was, she created a sense of community. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to others. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409) on Monday, October 17, 2016 commencing at 9:00 A.M., with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 P.M. in the main chapel. Entombment will follow at Santa Rosa Memorial Park-Hillview Mausoleum (1900 Franklin Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA, 95404). A reception will follow. As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers Memorial Contribution's in Lucille's name to the AT&T Pioneers Club-Redwood Life Member (supporting local community organizations) in care of: Bev Mager, 4622 Acacia Way, Penngrove, CA 94951.
