Edwin George Katen

Announcing the passing of Edwin "George" Katen on Tuesday, November 1st at the age of 86. Born February 12, 1936, George was a lifelong Petaluma resident. He graduated in 1954 from Petaluma High School, and married his high school sweetheart, Rose Barella, in 1959 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Petaluma. George worked at Pacific Bell for 35 years, and enjoyed traveling and meeting up with his lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, and parents, George and Clara Katen. He leaves behind to honor his memory his three children: Scott (Cheri) Katen; Diane (Cliff) Rowley; and Debbie (Jeff) Mendes; six grandchildren: Clarissa (Gino) Farinelli; Garret (Regan) Rowley; Dale Katen; Jay Katen; Deanna Mendes; and Jessica Mendes; as well as three great-grandchildren. Friends are welcome to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory. Burial will be private.
