Eleanor Beattie

Eleanor Beattie - Passed away on March 19, 2012 in Grass Valley. Devoted wife of the late William Beattie. Cherished mother of Veronica Beattie-Smith of Petaluma and Caroline McCall (Craig Keller) of Grass Valley. Beloved grandmother of Mandy, Robert, and Catherine Smith; Eleanor, Barbara, and Michael McCall; Matthew Keller; Erich and Andrew Gebo; Nova Calhoun; Marilin Dunsmore; and Gavin McCall. Loving sister of Elizabeth Ritinski, Dolores Spellman, Nartcy Nitcznski, and the late Walter, Clemence, Anthony and Edward Nitcznski. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was born in Hudson, PA, but reared and educated in Dushore, PA. In 1951, Eleanor married William at St. Patrickâ??s Cathedral in NY. There, they raised two children until moving to San Mateo in 1968. In 1973, the family moved to Petaluma. She worked part time for many years in the jewelry department at Mervynâ??s. Eleanor enjoyed sewing, traveling, and cooking. However, her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to meet on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 after 10:15 AM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma thence to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma where at 11:00 AM a Funeral Liturgy will be held. The Visitation will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. Interment: Calvary Cemetery.
