Elizabeth "Betty" Higbee

Betty Higbee passed away at the age of 87 in Petaluma on September 18, 2024. Born September 23, 1936 in Petaluma. Devoted daughter of the late Margaret (Reedall) and Fred Higbee. Loving mother of Margaret Jensen of Petaluma and Theresa Fjelstul and her husband Curtis of Cotati. Grandmother of Brian Jensen, Angelina Beck, Giovanna Simondi, Adrianna Simondi and Christopher Jensen. Cherished sister of the late Tom Higbee and his wife Kathy of Petaluma. Dear Aunt of Tom Higbee and his wife Ericka and Bill Higbee and his wife Traci. Great grandma of Cody Beck.

Born, reared and educated in Petaluma, she graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1954. She was a bus driver for the Shoreline unified School District for 10 Years and Golden Gate Transit for 21 years. Betty enjoyed playing bridge and quilting. She was a proud member of the Amalgamated Transit Union #1575 since 1975, Petaluma Quilt Guild, St. James Catholic Church and the St. James Woman’s Group.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on October 12, 2024 at 1:00pm at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory; 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma CA. Private Inurnment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tomales History Center, Hospice of Petaluma and Canine Companions for Independence.
