Elizabeth "Bette" Marks -
Elizabeth (Bette) K. Marks, age 88, lived an extraordinary life, survived by 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren (GG). Too many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews to mention, yet she knew everyoneâ??s name.
Born Oct. 15, 1921, youngest of 10 in Lakewood, Ohio. She married Harry Marks Aug. 23, 1942, at St. Roseâ??s in Ohio. Bette was one of the Rosie the Riveters during World War II. Her first child, Patricia was born in 1943. This elegant woman, the sailor who sang like Sinatra, and young daughter settled in CA in 1945. Bette was one of the first women engineers for A.T. & T., enjoyed working hard, telling people what to do and getting her way, having happy-hour with her husband and the boys after work. 1947 Michael was born. 12 years later Kevin came into the world. She was a proud grandmother and GG (Great Grandmother). Married 53 years she was dedicated to her faith and her family. She loved to travel across the states, Ireland, Canada, even managed a few cruises although she disliked water. She was a great fan of all sports, knowing all stats. She loved gaming. Knowing her was to love her. It was a sudden passing on May 6, 2010. To those whose lives she touched, no matter how brief the encounter, felt warmth and love.
