Elizabeth T. Marquardt

MARQUARDT, Elizabeth T. passed away after a short illness in Petaluma, CA May 2nd, 2024. Beloved wife of late Donald E. Marquardt of Petaluma. Loving mother of Christie (Rob) McCorkel and Carolyn (Steve) Gavriloff, all of Petaluma. Cherished “Nana” of Trenton and Kylie McCorkel and Natasha and Nicholas Gavriloff. Loving sister of Patricia Thrush and late James Thrush, all from San Francisco. Sister-in-law of Joan (Ray) Folla of Petaluma. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, Born in San Francisco, Liz attended Mercy High School and San Francisco City College where she met Don, her husband. They lived in San Francisco for 2 years before buying a house in Daly City. Together they had Christie and Carolyn. They moved to Petaluma in 1971, Liz was very active in her community and P.T.A. for Cherry Valley. She went back to school and got her BS at San Francisco State and her CPA. She worked for Smith, Mohrman, Dado & Mac Kenzie CPA and Pisenti and Brinker LLP. She served on the Petaluma Board of Education for over 20 years. She was a founding member of Petaluma Educational Foundation (PEF) and was a member of the Soroptimist International Club and Petaluma Rotary. She loved her summers at her family property in Camp Meeker and the beach at Monte Rio. She was blessed to have given so much to her community, family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Magnolia Ave and Keokuk St. Petaluma. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass Friday, May 17, 2024 at 1 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty St. Petaluma, CA. A reception will follow at the Petaluma Elks Lodge, 2105 McDowell Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a donation in Liz’s name to Petaluma Educational Foundation.
