Elizabeth Anne Youngberg, 81, passed away peacefully in Petaluma on March 1, 2021. Liz had been a resident of Petaluma since 1973. She was a graduate of Palo Alto High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from University of California, Berkeley.
Liz and her late husband (Bob) were very active with youth sports during the 1970’s and 1980’s, specifically with Petaluma National Little League and Petaluma Youth Soccer League. Liz was also a member of Chicken Little and the Red Hat Society. She was proud of her time being a special reading instructor at Miwok Elementary School. Later in life she was a volunteer greeter at Petaluma Valley Hospital.
After losing her beloved husband Bob in 1989, Liz moved on from being a stay-at-home mother and began a career in the Human Resources Department at Westamerica Bank. She worked there until her retirement in the mid-2000’s. Liz loved to travel and enjoyed seeing many parts of the world. However, her two favorite places were Maui and Pinecrest Lake. She was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants and Cal Bears. She was also an avid reader of books.
She is survived by her son’s Jon Youngberg (Lenda), David Youngberg (Nicole) and Steven Youngberg (Lindsey); her brothers Robert Talbott, Don Talbott (Joanne) and Tom Talbott. She had 9 grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Youngberg and her parents Robert and Dorothy Talbott.
A private service will be held at Alta Mesa Cemetery in Palo Alto.
