Elmer J. Nelsen, Jr. - Elmer Nelsen, Jr. died peacefully at his home on August 19, 2008. Longtime companion of Joyce Stogner. Loving father of Judy Loughry, Joan Cuppolitti, and Clarence Nelsen. Cherished grandfather of 4. Caring brother of the late Marge Iddings. His loved ones include: Robert and Carrie Stogner, Kenn Stogner, Bryan Stogner, Nico Humphreys and Michael Loughry. Elmer retired from Pacific Bell after thirty-one years of service. He was member of the Tomales Druids Grove #83. The family wishes to give a special thank you to his hospice caregivers Carol and Linda. Elmerâ??s final wish was to invite everyone to the Tomales Founders Day Celebration, where the BBQ pit, which he manned for many years, will be dedicated in Elmerâ??s name. The festivities will be held over Labor Day weekend. Elmer was 72 years of age. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Magnolia Avenue, Petaluma, CA. A private burial will be held at the Two Rock Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice of Santa Rosa, 2455 Bennett Valley Road, Suite B214, Santa Rosa, CA 95404 or to the Tomales Regional Historic Center.
