Emiko Moreland - Emiko Moreland passed away peacefully on March 5, 2009. Beloved wife of 53 years to Ronald Moreland of Cotati. Cherished mother to Ronald Moreland (Helen Bowers), Alice Harris (Brad Harris), Patricia Shaffer, and the late Cindy Moreland. Dearest Grandmother of Alex Marrs, Daniel Shaffer, Cindy, Kelly, Gregory, and Jason Zane, Kalyn Harris and great grandmother to Aila McMillan. Survived by her niece Katsuko Fujita. Friends and family are invited to a Visitation on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, 763-4131. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1451 Guerneville Rd., Suite 220, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. Inurnment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma. Born in a rural village near Fukuoka, Japan, the youngest of six children. Emiko worked as a skilled tailor, Master Stitcher, and teacher for the SRT at Santa Rosa JC creating costumes for their theatrical productions. She and her family traveled extensively as Ronald finished his career in the Air Force. They came to love Sonoma County after being stationed at Hamilton AFB in 1958 and settled in Cotati in 1971.
