Eona Victoria Maffia - Passed away on December 29, 2009 at her home in Petaluma after suffering several years from Alzheimerâ??s. During her early years, Eona worked for the overall factory in Petaluma, Reif and Brodieâ??s, Petaluma Poultry, and finally Piotrkowski Poultry. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. For the past few years, Eona was a regular at the Petaluma People Senior Center lunches. On Friday evenings, she and her caregiver, Erika Medina, enjoyed the senior dances in Santa Rosa.
Friends and family are invited to meet on Friday, January 8, 2010 from 10:15 AM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, thence to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma where at 11:00 AM a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Petaluma People Service Center Senior Cafe, 1500 Petaluma Blvd., So., Ste. A, Petaluma, CA 94952. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Romeo Maffia, Sr. She is survived by her son, Romeo Maffia, Jr., and his wife Kathy; grandchildren Gregory Maffia and Angela Maffia; great-granddaughters Brianna and Maddelyn Maffia; sister Annie Kehoe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
