Eugene John Cristani

Passed away peacefully at home in Petaluma, February 4,2022 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband for 71 years of Alice M. Cristani. Loving father of Kathleen Wilson (Ron), Lawrence Cristani (Sue) and Terry Cristani. Cherished grandfather of Cyndi Lindelli (Tim), Tina Wirtz (Adam), Ryan Wilson, Anthony Cristani (Elizabeth)and Angela Cristani-Heffernon. Doting great grandfather of Eight. Dear brother of the late Norma Govaerts and Pete Giacomelli. Also survived by his sister-in-laws, Minnie Corda, Genny Mazzetta (Clarence), Carol Maffia and Eda Maffia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A native of Valley Ford, CA., Gene attended Petaluma City Schools and he married Alice M. Maffia on September 16,1950 at St. Vincent’s Church. Gene was a meat cutter for 37 years, retiring from Fiesta Market in 1993. An avid lifelong S.F. Giants fan, he also enjoyed bowling and hunting. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, NSGW, Nicasio Parlor 183, Sonoma Marin Italian Club and a former member of the Hicks Valley Gun Club.

Private services for the family were held at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, with burial followed at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefer memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma.  The family also wish to express their appreciation to his caregiver, Siteri Logavatu and to Hospice of Petaluma for their loving and thoughtful care.
