Evelyn Frances Feiling

EVELYN FRANCES FEILING passed away on January 4, 2016 in Petaluma at the age of 94 years. Devoted wife of the late Arthur Feiling. Cherished mother of Karen Schubert of Rohnert Park and the late Linda Marie Sanchez. Loving Mother-in-Law of Michael Schubert. Beloved grandmother of Tamera Leigh Nixon (Randall). Adored great-grandmother of Raymond Michael and Ashleigh Marie Nixon. Loving sister of the late Arthur Paula, Alice Fore, Rose Borgna, Josephine Paula, Clarence Paula, and Ralph Paula. Dear sister-in-law of Rose Frates and Kathy Paula. Survived by several cousins, numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was born, reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High School and Empire Business College. She married the love of her life on June 8, 1944 in Reno and together they enjoyed 64 years of marriage. During WWII, Evelyn worked as a secretary for Mare Island Shipyard but decided to stay home and raise her family once the War was over. In her spare time, she enjoyed gambling and playing cards. Evelyn enjoyed countless trips to Reno and spent her last two birthdays at Graton Casino. She planned on going this next Sunday for her birthday; her family will carry on the tradition. As a member of the Paula family, Petaluma pioneers and King Road ranchers, she was the eldest matriarch of that great generation. Evelyn was a wonderful woman; she will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Friday, January 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma. Visitation
