Evelyn Ransom

With great sadness, the life of Evelyn C. Ransom has come to an end. Passed away on 8/23/2021 at age 101. She was the matriarch of both the Ransom & Tamagni families. Born in 1920 in Vina, CA to Cesare & Josephine Tamagni on the family dairy ranch. She was predeceased by 11 siblings.

She was the devoted spouse of the late Robert J. Ransom, Sr., and predeceased by son, Ron Ransom. She is survived by son, Robert Ransom, Jr. (Diana); daughter-in-law, Maj-Lis Ransom, 5 grandchildren (Jennifer, Rob, Alicia, Brett, Rick) and 8 great-grandchildren (TJ, Taylor, Nick, Joey, Jack, Ryan, Cole, Chase).

Evelyn was very social throughout her life. Being a long-time member of many local organizations, she gathered many friends. She loved people, and she loved her family. There was always someone to visit, a function to attend, or a family reunion to enjoy. She was also involved with local election polls for over 50 years. Evelyn enjoyed many cruises, vacations with their travel trailer, camping, hunting trips and a few gambling excursions. One of her cherished European trips was Switzerland, the land of her ancestors, to visit Valle Morobbia, Ticino in the 1990’s. She visited the small villages of Carena, Melera & Melirolo with the centuries aged, stone homes of her ancestors & cousins of the Tamagni, Buletti, Sarina & Codiroli families. She was always one to enjoy adventure, family and friends. She loved life! She will be remembered by many, and greatly missed by all.

Her services will be private with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Petaluma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Petaluma or a favorite charity. Remembrances may be expressed via Parent-Sorensen Webpage site or Legacy.com via Guestbook & Condolences.
