As a sergeant in the US Army Air Force during WWII, he installed and repaired communication equipment on warplanes. While stationed in England, he met the love of his life, Mary. They were married in her hometown of Luton, England, on March 10, 1945. In 1946, Mary joined Floyd in Petaluma where they shared a wonderful life together with their two children. Floyd began working in 1946 at the Kresky Manufacturing Company, Petaluma, as well as installing TV antennas on the side. From 1955 until his retirement, he worked at Boutz TV, Petaluma, as a radio and television technician. He was a faithful member of the Petaluma United Methodist Church, having actively participated in the Friendly Folk group, in the United Methodist Men's Club, and on various church projects. Floyd was always willing to help others, and for many years, he and his Methodist friends would pick up and deliver toys for Christmas Cheer. He played Pinochle with friends and family, enjoyed gardening and camping, and fished from the waters of Bodega Bay and Hat Creek to places as far away as Alaska. Most importantly, Floyd deeply appreciated everyone. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished the time that they spent together. He loved to engage in conversation and was a wonderful storyteller. He will always be thought of for his polite and generous manner, as well as for his inherent strength and positive attitude. Floyd's unwavering and unconditional love for others will always be remembered.
