FRANCES ADA McKENNA passed away on April 17, 2016 in Pt. Richmond, CA, at the age of 82. Devoted wife of the late Daniel McKenna. Cherished mother of Lynda Thomas (Ron), Stan McKenna, and Sharon DeMartini. Beloved grandmother of Elise and Heather Clark; and Luke and Grace DeMartini. Dear step-grandmother of Jennifer Clark (Marcus), Marcie Derrickson (Jim), and the late Amy Thomas. Adored step-great-grandmother of Bailey Thomas; Jalisa, Isaiah, and Emery Clark. Loving sister of Myrtle Lank, Evelyn Grant (Rod), and Mons Hoyrup (Pat). Survived by several nieces and nephews, her companion Don Amantite and his family.
Frances was born, reared and educated in Canada, where she attended nursing school. She moved to the US in the early 1950s and continued her nursing education at BYU. It was while working as a nurse in Utah she met her future husband, Daniel McKenna. In the 1960s, they moved to CA and lived in Richmond for 10 years. The family moved to Petaluma in the early 1970s where Frances raised her family and ran a successful sewing business. She also spent time in Cloverdale and for the last five years in Pt. Richmond. In her spare time, Frances enjoyed swimming, gardening, painting, and crafts. She loved to travel and was always up for an adventure. Above all, Frances loved her family. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.
