Francis Gerald "Frank" Loughran

Following 81 years of meaningful life, Francis passed away in Santa Rosa, CA, May 21, 2016. He was beloved by his wife of 60 years, Margy, who partnered him in life and together they raised seven children: Lynne Kaufman (Edward), Patrick Loughran (Chris), Terry Patton (Scott), Julie Veveiros (Steven-deceased), Cathy Pearce (Troy), Daniel Loughran, and William Loughran. Additionally, Francis provided love and guidance to his 14 grandchildren and loving sisters, Mary O'Keefe of So. S.F., Nan Scarpino (Frank) of Redwood City and the late George Loughran. To all that knew him, he illustrated his devotion and commitment to his family, friends and loved ones. Frank was a native of San Francisco, CA, where he served the S.F. Fire Department with distinction for 28 years and achieved the position of Captain. Aside from his accomplishments in the Fire Department, Francis was a licensed pilot, master mechanic, accomplished carpenter and enthusiastic musician (ukulele). He enjoyed his art of tinkering, as much as he enjoyed his love for laughter and story telling. He was a devote member of the St. James Catholic Church of Petaluma, Knights of Columbus and YMI #1 of S.F. Without fail, Francis proved to be a man of honor, love and faithfulness. Please join us in the celebration of his incredible life. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, Ca. The Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM at the mortuary. The Funeral Mass will be observed, Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma, CA. Private internment, Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefer memorials be made to the San Francisco Fire Fighters Cancer Prevention Foundation, 1139 Mission St., S.F., CA 94103 or to your favorite charity. Visitation
