Frank Alexander Mezzanotti passed away quietly in his sleep on January 25th. He was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on March 27, 1928 to Mary (Valentini) and Italo Mezzanotti. He married young and had a son and a daughter. He remarried in 1975 to Marie and began a new chapter.
Frank was always hard working and rarely idle. He served in the Navy when he was old enough to join in 1945 – 1946. He held many jobs in his life, until he became a stationary engineer at the Intercontinental Banking Company (Hostess & Wonder Bread) where he began in the 1950s, working straight through to his retirement in the 1990s. He loved his family and friends, all things sports, Lake Tahoe and most of all, working in his stunning garden. He referred to himself as “a flower man.”
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Marie Mezzanotti; his son Tony (Mary) Mezzanotti, daughter Debbie (Walter) Jaynes; his stepchildren, Angie Luffel and Christine (Paul) Grech and their families including 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 13, 6:30 PM at Chapel by the Sea, 801 Oceana Blvd., Pacifica, CA. Inurnment will be held privately at the Italian Cemetery in Colma, CA on February 14, 2019.
