Our father’s life was one lived in the service of others, and his greatest gift was the ability to quietly find ways to support those he loved without the use of words, but through his actions. He demonstrated this most distinctly in his loving care of our mother over several years.
Although he lived a life of many hardships, he was not one to complain of his past losses, particularly the passing of our mother, nor the pain he suffered physically through years of hard work; He was stoic until his final breath.
In his life as well as in death he was surrounded by those who loved him. He is predeceased by his wife, Maria Teresa Andrade Silveira, his parents, Antonio and Ana Silveira, his siblings, and many others whom he loved. He is survived by his nephew, Joe Baldes and his family, his nieces, Maria Escilia Baldes and Maria Silveira Freitas and their families, and his children, Anna, Frank, Rosa, David, Anthony, and Amy, as well as his in-laws, Dawn, Kathryn, Connie, Pete, Jenny, and Tony; and finally his sweet grandchildren, Derrick, Drew, Alex, Michael, Clark, Frank, Anna, Katherine, Nicholas, Lillian, Teresa, Jamie, and Anthony, who would always cause him to light up with a warm smile.
We would also like to acknowledge the staff of Hospice of Petaluma, and Tess DeLeon, who helped us care for him over the last year.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952 or St. Vincent Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, CA 94952.
