Franklin Dewey Close, Jr.

Franklin Dewey Close, Jr. - Died quietly at his Forestville home on August 11, 2009 at the age of 87. Loving husband of 67 years to Allison Borland Close. Cherished father of Susan Close-Weber. Devoted grandfather of William (Tamara) Weber and Jennifer (Daniel) Scheiber. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren; Will and Mia Weber and Alan and Samantha Scheiber. After attending Cal-Berkley, he served his country in the Army during WWII. He graduated Medical School at the University of Kansas. Frank practiced medicine in San Francisco for several years before being re-drafted during the Korean War. After completing his service, he took his pediatric specialty training to Childrenâ??s Hospital in Oakland and then spent 30 years practicing pediatrics at Hayward Medical Group. At the time of his death, he had been retired and living on the apple ranch, which has been in the family for over 100 years. Frank lived a long and full life and will be missed by many.
