Franklyn "Doug" Pershina

DOUG PERSHINA passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55 years old. Doug was a loving and devoted father, a devoted son, and an adored friend and coworker. Doug is survived by his father Franklin Pershina, his eldest son Allan Pershina, his son Christian Pershina, his daughter Allyson Pershina, and his son Carson Pershina. Also, Doug will always be loved and remembered by his large group of friends.

Doug was born in San Rafael to Franklin and Glenda Pershina, and was raised as an only child in Petaluma. He graduated from Casa Grande High in 1980 and then from Chico State in 1988. Doug started a career in accounting for Longs Drugs and was able to enjoy many work trips along the entire Western United States, including many trips to Hawaii. Amongst many other activities and hobbies, he enjoyed travel and spending quality time with his friends, doing such things as playing softball, camping, hiking, jetskiing, and house boating.

Doug and family moved to Arizona in 2003 where he worked as a sales representative. He helped care for his parents and helped raise his family. Not only did he strive to be a good father, but he also dedicated many years to coaching football and baseball. Of all things in this world, Doug loved his family very much. Doug’s four children were the pride of his life. Whether a friend, a coworker, or a random bystander, you were never free from the stories of a proud father. Doug will rest peacefully having known that he helped raised four great children.

Doug will remain in our hearts and our memories for the rest of our days. We will remember his good heart, his smile, and his love for his friends and family. Rest in peace dad, we will miss you!

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Doug’s life at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, on September 2, 2017 at 2pm.  Interment: Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, 430 Magnolia Ave., Petaluma, CA.
