Georgina H. Younger

GEORGINA H. YOUNGER passed away on April 12, 2017 in Petaluma at the age of 88 years after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.  Devoted mother of James Younger Jr. of Tracy, Thomas Younger of Petaluma and the late Cheryl Frye.  Beloved grandmother of Samantha Frye Larsen, Eric Younger, and Kelli Morton.  Adored daughter of the late Jean Maser and William Williams.

Georgina was born in San Francisco, moved to Oakland at an early age and then to Sebastopol with her mother and step-father Edward Maser. She graduated from high school in Sebastopol and lived on an apple orchard. She and her family then moved to Petaluma where she met her husband James Younger Sr.

Georgina worked in retail, apple canning and for Sunset Line and Twine at the time of her retirement. She was a long time active member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Petaluma and was a weekly participant at the Petaluma Senior Center for lunch, bingo and socialization.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 455 McNear Ave., Petaluma, CA 94952.  A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund or Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952.  Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
