Giuseppe "Joe" Nieri

Passed away in Rohnert Park, CA, April 2, 2015, husband of the late Hilda Nieri. Loving father of Carla Nieri Cardarelli and her husband, Angelo of Novato. Cherished grandfather of Massimo and Gabriella Cardarelli. Brother of Rosina Barsi of Italy and Marcella Lucchesi of San Francisco. Uncle of Franco Lucchesi of San Francisco and Albano Barsi of Italy. Beloved companion of Dorothy Aggio and her extended family. Also survived by many cousins in the Bay Area and Italy. A native of San Cassiano di Controne, Prov. Lucca, Italy. Age 86 years. A longtime San Franciscan, Joe moved to Sonoma County in 2000 after the death of his wife. He was a retired stone mason in Italy and San Francisco area. Joe loved to dance, play bocce and play the harmonica. He was a longtime member of Italian Catholic Federation. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 5:00 pm to8:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4595 Snyder Ln., Rohnert Park, CA. Private entombment will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma, CA. The family prefer memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
