Gordon Melvin Johnsen

Gordon Melvin "Johnnie" Johnsen - Born June 9, 1923 in Sidney, Montana to John Christ Johnsen and Ingeborg Nelsen. Peacefully passed away December 25, 2006 with family around him. The Johnsen family moved to Southern California in 1930 and to the Danish community in Petaluma in 1939. He served as a Sargent n the Marine Corps in the South Pacific, during World War II. Married Joyce M. Buttke his loving wife of 61 years, in Petaluma in September of 1945. Gordon was a respected mechanic in town for many years. He began his own photography business, CeeJay Photo, which was his long time dream. Gordon also drove a school bus for Petaluma City Schools. He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church and served as treasurer and as president of the congregation. Gordon and Joyceâ??s children are Jon A. Johnsen and Doris Lopez, Gerald M. and Betty Johnsen and Deb J. and Brian Sheridan. Their grandchildren are Elleâ??ndril and Josh Sommers, Klint W.J. Sheridan and Zakary F.L. Sheridan. Gordon and Joyce also have many other â??grandchildrenâ?
