Grace May Horton

Grace May Horton aka "Gracie, Mama Grace" 89, of Petaluma, CA went away peacefully to be with the angels on Monday March 20, 2017(1st day of spring). Grace was born in Vermont and was the youngest of 5 siblings. She married the love of her life James R. Horton November of 1947 in Washington D.C and shortly moved to California. James passed away in 1984. Now they will be reunited again. Grace was a homemaker for many years. Known for being a fantastic cook! When her children grew older Grace went to work in Marin as a housekeeper. She was the mother of James E. Horton -Oregon, Stacy R. Horton- Penngrove, Joy L. Condon- Sonoma, Janet S. Horton- New Jersey. Grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 17, and great great grandmother of 1 who she was all so proud of. Grace was a tiny lady with a lot of strength and courage. She was very accepting and not one to judge. In the last 3.5 years of her life she was lucky to live in Santa Rosa, CA at a board and care where she received wonderful care in a safe and happy environment. We will forever be thankful that her last years were spent this way. Grace was a beautiful lady who will be highly missed by all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Grace may be made to Hospice by the Bay, 190 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476 or to Kathleen Rsoe Garden, 1628 Keoke Ct., Santa Rosa, CA 95403. All are welcome to a graveside service on Monday March 27,2017 @ 1:00 P.M. At Cypress Hill Memorial Park, 430 Magnolia Ave., Petaluma, CA. Lunch to follow at Palms Grill, Petaluma.
