Grant Ronald Noah

Grant Ronald Noah loved and served:  God, Family and Country. Noah passed away on Tuesday, April 4th at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after fighting a courageous battle with numerous organ failures at the age of 83. He passed away in the good graces of our Lord peacefully with his family by his side. He was a resident of Cotati since 1973.

On the exterior, Grant looked very serious as expected from a dedicated Army Man; however, to his family and friends he was: humorous, humble and always generous with his time for those in need.

An Army Veteran, Grant enlisted in the Army is 1958 and served on the Berlin Wall during the Cold War and later returned to San Francisco to serve in the 6th Army Honor Guard as a Squad Leader responsible for performing military honors for veterans buried at the Golden Gate National Cemetery.

While stationed in San Francisco, he met his loving wife of 62 years, Joy Frances (Fambrini). Grant literally proposed to her on their 2nd date, and they lived their life, through and with, the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Grant and Joy were married at Mission Dolores Basilica in San Francisco on October 28,1961. Noah served our Lord: as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, was an active member of the Men’s Club, participated in Religious Education RCIA program as a Team Member and sponsor. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for over 50 years. He was a dedicated father to his two sons: Christian Thomas Noah (deceased 1985) & Cary Philip Noah.

Grant would work at Redwood Reliance Truck and Trailer in San Francisco and Cotati as the Foreman of the Brake & Shear Fabrication Department for 43 years. After retirement Grant was active in several veteran organizations and became Team Leader of the Sonoma County Veterans Military Honor Guard. His squad paid tribute to over 1,000 North Bay Veterans. In Grant’s free time he enjoyed: archery, genealogy, watching the San Francisco Giants baseball Team, coaching Little League Baseball for 3 years, and most of all spending time with his loving wife and soulmate Joy, and his beloved Chihuahua’s: Chance & Pinky. Noah was also a Lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Jamestowne Society. He was also a member of the American Legion, Son’s of the American Revolution (Redwood Empire & San Francisco Chapters) and Stars and Bars.

In addition to his wife, Joy, Grant is survived by his sister, Deborah Leboire (San Diego, California); son, Cary Noah (Singapore); daughter-in-law Joanne Chan (Singapore); grandson Jacob Christian Noah (Fort Collins, Colorado); as well as his pet Pinky.

Visitation will begin at 11:00a.m. with Rosary Prayers commencing at 11:30a.m. on Monday, April 17th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Cotati, CA 94931; with the Funeral Mass starting at 12p.m.; followed by a military burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 304 Magnolia Ave, Petaluma, CA 94952.
