Guadalupe 'Lupe' Malnati

December 15, 1951 — January 26, 2024

Petaluma

Malnati, (Villanueva) Guadalupe our beautiful Wife, Mom and Grandmother left us on January 26, 2024

Lupe was born to Juan Villanueva and Adela (Rosas) Villanueva.

She recently celebrated her 49th wedding anniversary to the love of her life her beloved husband Ron. She leaves behind her sons Vincent(Chrystyn) and her twin boys Kenneth(Molly) and Anthony. She has 5 grandchildren that adored her, Jacob, Brooklyn, Charlie, Sawyer, and Sienna.

She was a loving sister to Mary (Ray) Allena, Vicky (Barry)(deceased) Litchfield, Susie (John) Lewis, Lela (Joe) Edwards, Marisa Williams (Anthony Lopez), her brother John(Chito)Villanueva, sister and brother in law Pat and Joe Pedrani and Kenny Malnati(deceased). She was Aunty Lupe to many loving nieces and nephews and second Mom and breakfast burrito maker to all her sons countless friends that were always welcome at the house.

Lupe was born in Taylor Texas and then moved to Fresno at a young age. Her formative years were growing up in Forest Knolls where she was proud of being a tom boy and Catholic Girl. She moved to Petaluma on Wilson St at the age of 12 where she graduated from Kenilworth Jr. High and Petaluma High School. She lived the next 60 years raising her family and enjoying watching her sons growing up playing sports in Rohnert Park and eventually moving back to Petaluma.

She loved to travel with Ron; they went on many trips around the United States visiting national parks and enjoying family and friends along the way. She loved spending time at her vacation home in Tahoe, enjoying hikes, gambling on slots, lotto tickets, and scratchers. Her life- long pet of 42 years was Lodi a yellow napped Amazon parrot.

Lupe had a green thumb and her passion was gardening. Many family members and friends are recipients of her succulent flower pots, her painted sculptures, Mexican cooking, and her sewing projects. She loved making jokes on people and scaring them. She also loved her sweets!

She retired from Kaiser after 30 years as receptionist. She always talked fondly of her patients, her co workers, nurses, and doctors she worked with.

Alzheimer’s may have taken her memories, but it can’t touch her heart, it can’t touch her soul, and it can’t touch her beautiful smile. Those three things will live on forever. We will all miss her very dearly. The family is grateful for the care Lupe received at Muir Woods and Taking the Journey care facilities.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Vincent’s DePaul Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma at 11am on February 15.

Memorial donations may be made in Lupe’s memory to Hospice of Petaluma, The Alzheimer’s Association, or to a charity of your choice.
