Harold J. Fish - Harold J. Fish passed away peacefully in Penngrove, Ca. with his companion Dorine Sroufe at his side, on Sat. Jan.14, 2012. He was 85. Harold Fish was born on May16, 1926 in Ottawa, Kansas to the parents Delbert Harold and Nell Clark-Fish. He was the oldest of 4 boys. Harold married Mildred Eva Yakle on Aug. 25 1947 in Baldwin City, Kansas, one month shy of being married 60 years.
Harold was raised on a farm in Kansas during the Depression and lived through the Great Dust Bowl. At age 16 Harold began his military career. He enlisted in the Merchant Marines before World War II, and then as an Army Paratrooper during WWII. After joining the Navy Reserves, he was drafted to the Navy Sea Bees during the Korean War.
Harold attended Kansas State Teachers College and felt teaching would not be
lucrative so decided to make a living in construction. He obtained his Calif. general contracting
license in 1958 and contracted until his retirement. Harold is survived by, son Michael Fish, and his family in Richland, WA. Granddaughters, Theresa and Cheryl Crayne of Washington State, Tonya Gonzalez of Napa, Marcena Walther of Elk Grove. 6 great-grandchildren, Cassi, Graycen, Savannah, Daniel, Briella and Calliegh. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife Mildred, daughter Linda Longaker, granddaughter Diana Crayne and his brothers Jack, Dwayne, Rodney. Harold was loved by Darlene Boom and her family of Port Orchard, WA. He will be missed by many extended family and friends.

He loved to travel the USA and yearly canning from his own garden. He also loved to hunt, fish, boat, watch football, camp, and work in his machine and wood shop. Harold was an innovative inventor of things to make his life easier.
