Harold Ghisletta Jr. passed to the other side Wednesday January 5, 2022 at UCSF hospital at the age of 70. There to guide him on his journey, his parents Harold Sr. and Annie Ghisletta (Fomasi).
Harold leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Bonnie. Son Ben, daughter-in-law Stefanie, their boys Kyle and Brett. Daughter Giavanna, her children, Roman and Georgia. Daughter Maria and son-in-law Jake Harvey.
He also leaves his five sisters, with whom he had a very special bond. Louise Byrne, Elenore Renati (Rocky), Haroldine Hansen, Nettie Corda and Kathy Dolcini. Harold is traveling once again with his brother-in-law Doug Dolcini and reconnecting with brothers-in-law, Fred Corda, Ed Byrne and Larry Hansen.
Harold’s family roots and his passion were always in agriculture. He loved working alongside family and dear friends from Mexico at Ghisletta Family Dairy on San Antonio Road. Harold enjoyed his partnership with good friends Jim and Doug Dolcini. He had a mobile butcher business for many years.
Hard work, family and friends filled his soul. History of community and local families were a constant conversation. Having lost his father at an early age, Harold often gratefully spoke of and cherished the kindness of his father-in-law, Bill Barboni as well as his uncles John and Isadore Fomasi. He made it his life’s project to pass on that kindness to his precious grandchildren, children, family, friends and strangers alike.
Harold’s church, place of reflection, was anywhere in nature. His favorite time was the dawn, the madrugada. His wish was that you remember him when you have a quiet time in that space.
The Ghisletta family wish to send their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated hospital staff, doctors, nurses, comfort care, palliative care and hospice care at UCSF.
The family will be holding private services and ask that in lieu of flowers, a memorial be sent to benefit UCSF Dr. Teresa De Marco, Pulmonary Hypertension.
