Harriet Beatrice Krieg

Harriet Beatrice Krieg was born April 7,1922 in Buffalo New York to Dr. Peter J. Barone and Edith Barone, and was raised in California. She passed into eternal life November 27, 2020. She has joined her loving husband of 72 years, Richard "Dick" Krieg.

Harriet met her beloved husband at St. Elizabeth High School in Oakland. They were married in 1943. They had five children: Richard Jr. (Ana), David (Cathy), Michele “Shelley” Bouche (Frank), Jeanne Jones (Paul), and Dan Krieg. She was a devoted wife and mother, cooking and sewing for her children, 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Harriet was involved in her community. She designed the original city seal of Rohnert Park. She was active, and president of, the St. Vincent de Paul Mother’s Club. She volunteered for Head Start. Her home in Petaluma was the first to receive the Heritage Home Award for a residence in 1974. She was hired by Superintendent, Dave Robins, to be the Parent/Teacher Coordinator for the Petaluma School District and held that position for fifteen years. Harriet and Dick retired to Hidden Valley Lake in 1986 where they delivered Meals on Wheels for the Middletown Senior Center for 17 years. She served on the Lake County Grand Jury and went back to school to earn her AA Degree from Santa Rosa Junior College where she was a straight-A student.

Harriet lived in Redding for two years. She passed into eternity in her daughter and son-in-law’s home in the presence of her two daughters and her son-in-law.

Harriet loved to read, sing, draw and paint, play games, sail, swim, tell jokes, bake, and entertain family and friends.

She was always willing to lend a hand and a listening ear.

Harriet will be remembered for her beautiful smile, caring attitude, and loving heart.

Funeral Services are being arranged by Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory in Petaluma (707) 763-4131. Harriet loved flowers or donations may be made to Middletown Senior Center.
