Helen (Spaletta) Cristiani

HELEN (SPALETTA) CRISTIANI passed peacefully on December 30, 2015 at the age of 76. At the end she was surrounded by her loving husband and children. Cherished wife of David Cristiani of Petaluma. Beloved mother of Edward Smith of Santa Rosa, Louis Smith (Karla) of Cobb, and Sheila Smith (Rick) of Carlton, OR. Adored grandmother of Louis Smith, Jr. and Amanda Musgrave. Loving sister of James Spaletta, Charles Spaletta, Barbara "Susie" Fomasi, Domingo Spaletta, Henry Spaletta, and John "Moe" Spaletta. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was born, reared, and educated in Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High School. As a working mother of three she was employed as a dental assistant for various practices for over 20 years. Upon retirement she found joy in spending time with her family and caring for her pets. She also had fun learning, communicating, and playing games on her computer. If you had a computer problem she would be the first to try and help figure it out and usually she did. Later in life she went back to work part-time at Larkfield Self-Storage in Santa Rosa for over 10 years until she no longer could work. Her lost presence has been felt there as well. Helen was a wonderful woman; she will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Petaluma Animal Shelter, 840 Hopper St., Petaluma, CA 94952 or your favorite charity. Private Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma. Visitation
