Helen M. Loorya

HELEN M. LOORYA Entered in to the arms of our Lord on November 13, 2017 at the age of 68. Beloved wife of Jim Loorya for 46 years, loving mother of Bryan Loorya, Matthew Loorya and Jennifer Farnsworth.

A native of California and the daughter of John and Viola Ainslie, Helen grew up in South San Francisco. It was during her youth that Helen met the love of her life, Jim. They first dated while attending El Camino High School. After high school, Helen went to college at San Francisco State University where she earned her bachelor's degree, while Jim served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam. Shortly after Jim's return, Helen and Jim married on December 19, 1970. By 1981, Helen and Jim settled in Petaluma where they raised their family. Helen's career saw her teach pre-school, work at the local radio station as well as the Chamber of Commerce, before she became a property manager for common interest developments. By 1991, Helen had founded Steward Property Services and was the company's president and CEO for 25 years. Helen was an active member in the community. Each year, she closed the office to have “Christmas Elf Day” where the Steward Property Services team gave back to local organizations and people in need. Helen was also a long-time member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), an organization that she served on the board for and that provided many wonderful friendships. Among her hobbies, Helen was a voracious reader and writer. She also thoroughly enjoyed traveling with Jim and considered Lake Tahoe and Kauai her favorite places.

Above all, Helen loved her family. She was one of the most wonderful and giving women we all knew. Helen will be truly missed. She is survived by her husband Jim, children Bryan (& Marisa), Matthew (& Julee), Jennifer (& Jeff); sister Beth Ainslie (& Michael Koff); and grandchildren Wyatt, Austin, Madeline, Gia, Anthony, Charlotte and Milo.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma.
