Passed away in San Antonio, Texas, October 11, 2013 at the age of 82. Loving husband for 54 years of Maxine (Morita) Arishita. Dear father of Dr. Gary (Dana Lapp) Arishita and Gayleen Arishita (Wayne) Aoki. Very devoted grandfather of 7 grandchildren. Son of the late Teruichi and Kozue Arishita. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Masashi, Masaki and Jim. He is survived by sisters-in-law, Toshie, Hiroko and Jean as well as many nieces and nephews. He had many friends as once a friend with Henry, "always a friend".
Henry was born in Petaluma on April 13, 1931, reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High School, Class of 1949 and attended Santa Rosa Junior College. Living in Petaluma most of his life, he first worked on the family's poultry ranch delivering eggs. He resided in Petaluma except for the years spent at the internment camp in Amache, Colorado. Henry served in the U.S. Air Force, enlisting in 1950 and later worked as a rural mail carrier at the Petaluma Post Office until his retirement. He and Maxine moved to Clovis in 1994 and then to Boerne, Texas in 2008. His hobbies included go carts, motorcycling, golf, fishing, hunting and line dancing.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma.
