Herbert J. Carlson

HERBERT J. CARLSON passed away peacefully at his home with his immediate family by his side. He was 89. Beloved husband of Patricia Carlson for 63 years. Loving father to Cathy Carlson, Mark Carlson (deceased), John (Lisa) Carlson, Chris (Teresa) Carlson and Nancy (Steve) Perucchi. Proud grandfather of Ashley O'Callaghan, Josh Perucchi, Mandy Perucchi, Melissa Silva, Krista Carlson and Alex Carlson. Proud great grandfather of Daniel, Sophia and Lexus. He was a life-long resident of Petaluma. He was a 1943 graduate of Petaluma Sr High. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a chicken rancher. He retired from Dinwiddie Construction as a Labor Foreman in 1988. He was a 50 yr member of Laborers' International Union of North America. He was active in the Petaluma Branch of SIRs #58 and a volunteer at Saks Hospice store in Petaluma. He was an avid 49er and Nascar fan and loved fishing and gardening. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Private interment on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma or a charity of your choice.
