Herbert Dougan

Herbert Dougan was born on December 25th, 1924 to William and Sarah Margaret Dougan. The family worked a dairy farm in West Marin and that was where he got his first work experience. He was a WWII Air Force veteran. He is survived by his twin, Harold, and brothers Bill and Alec, and his sister Ethel. His wife Roberta and his brothers Bob, Jim, Jack and George predeceased him.

Herb started Herb’s Pool Service in 1958. The business is still operated by the second and third generation of his family. Herb worked hard but also enjoyed hosting big family parties, restoring vintage vehicles, and gardening. He let us know when the end was near and passed peacefully at home on May 27th. He will be greatly missed by his children (Richard, Sandy, Kathy and Bonnie), their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and family friends.

A service will be held at a later date at his ranch. In lieu of flowers please donate to Continuum Hospice Marin.
