Passed away peacefully on January 8, 2017 at the age of 85. He is predeceased by his wife Patricia, and is survived by his loving family: children Eric, Guy (Judy), Rex (Claire), Roger, Alan (Mary), and Iris (Mike) Lovelace, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many relatives. Born in Detroit, MI, he worked with his father in construction before serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War - mostly aboard the USS Tripoli (CVE-64) as a Damage Controlman. As a general contractor, he met his wife in Dunkirk, NY where they began their family and family business. They later moved to Central Florida, then back to Fredonia, NY, before settling in Santa Rosa, CA in 1970. He also worked as an installer for Sears. He was involved in many groups, including: American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus, and had been Council President for the local Navy League and YMI #40. He enjoyed reading, playing cards and board games, bowling, watching Lawrence Welk, and being a private pilot. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (1244 St. Francis Rd., Santa Rosa, CA, 95409). Private interment with Military Honor's will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA. Funeral Mass
