Ida B. Sartori, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully at Taking The Journey in Petaluma, California, on July 28, 2025, at the age of 91, (just 8 days before her 92nd birthday) surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sonoma, California, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Assunta Maffioli. She was the wife of the late Everett Sartori and the mother to Teresa (Terry) Matott, Rodger Sartori, the late Peter Sartori, and Virginia "Ginnie" (the late Mark) Wooten.
She was the grandmother to Eron (the late Nitny Sisouvanh) Matott, Mara (Sean) Minnehan, Trianna (Jeremy Rarick, partner) Sartori, Cole (Jessica) Wooten, and Samuel (Jules) Wooten.
She was the "Gunga" (great-grandmother) to Arianna (Kyle) Moore, Alexia (Dylan Roberts, partner) Martinez, Averi Matott, Amaya Matott; great-grandmother to Giovanni Sartori-Ortiz, Quentin Minnehan, Chloe Minnehan, Charlotte Rarick, Jack Rarick, Gunner Rarick, Kamora Monroe, Kamille Wooten, and Kassidy Wooten. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was the "baby" sister to the late Angie Montini, Rena Garliepp, Ricciotti "Rick" Maffioli, Nobile Maffioli, and Mazzini "Mutz" Maffioli.
Ida was a member of UFCW & Employers Trust, LLC (Butcher's Union) having worked for many years at Reif & Brody in Petaluma, before being employed as a "yard duty" and "cafeteria supervisor" at McKinley Elementary School. Ida enjoyed life to the fullest, trying her luck weekly (sometimes daily) playing BINGO (and oftentimes "winning" big). She was an excellent cook and was known in her family as the QUEEN of the kitchen. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Kelly and Kisa Eriksen and their devoted care giving staff at Taking The Journey, for their compassionate and devoted care, which brought great comfort and peace of mind during Ida's final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ida to Hospice of Petaluma, the Meals on Wheels program at the Petaluma People Services Center, the United Anglers program at Casa Grande High School, or the charity of your choice. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
At Ida's request, no services will be held.
