Irene Bordessa Catenacci

IRENE BORDESSA CATENACCI was born on August 8, 1920, in Dillon Beach to parents Antonio and Giuliana Bordessa, raised in Tomales, CA.  In 1930, while moving to Petaluma, her family drove their cattle from Tomales to the Miller Ranch on Old Adobe Rd., by foot, through downtown Petaluma.  In 1941, she married Guy P. Catenacci.  They owned and operated a dairy and chicken ranch on the corner of Ely and Washington St.  They sold milk to Clover, eggs to Petaluma Poultry Producers and many locals, including the San Francisco Giants in the 1960s.  She loved to embroider, play cards (especially King Pedro), garden and spend time with her grandchildren.  She was a fun-natured jokester, strong willed, confident, fun loving and very hard working. Guy and Irene can be remembered by the street sign, Catenacci Court, on the east side of Petaluma, by the airport, the last of their property. Irene is preceded in death by husband, Guy P. Catenacci; sisters, Emma Mossi, Elma Bonansea; brothers, Robert Bordessa, John Bordessa, and David Bordessa.  She is survived by children, Madaline Catenacci, Lynda S. Catenacci and John Catenacci; grandchildren, Diana W., Lee Tucker, Selena Mariani (Marc), Randy Miramontez (Melissa); 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy., Petaluma.  A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.  Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma. Visitation
