Irene Marie Nunes Ferrari - Following a one year courageously fought battle with cancer, Irene passed away on July 4, 2009 peacefully at home in Petaluma surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joe A. Nunes, Jr. and her parents: Emilio and Rosa Ghirardelli. She was the wife of Bill Ferrari of Petaluma. Adored mother of Donna Azevedo (Art), Mike Nunes (Marie), and Jolene Adiego (Tony) all of Petaluma. Cherished grandmother of Brian and Michael Azevedo; Joey Adiego (Melissa), Justin Adiego (Ashley), and Jared Adiego. Beloved great-grandmother of Avery Adiego. Cherished step-grandmother of Chris Restle (Michelle), Jennifer, Danny, and David Restle. Loving sister of Gildo Ghirardelli (Dorothy) of Petaluma and Angie Olmstead (Lee) of Sandpoint, ID. Step-mother of Julie Leasure (Jeff) and Jenny Toumi (Rocky). Step-grandmother of Daryl Brazil, Becky and Laura Calleja, and Hannah Leasure. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to meet on Thursday, July 9, 2009 after 9:15 AM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma thence to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, CA where at 10:00 AM a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952 or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma. Age: 75 years.
