Irene was born March 28,1926 in Bolinas on the Strain/Teixeira Ranch, the 5th child out of 6. She attended the Bolinas Grammar School and then worked on the ranch with her parents and siblings until she started her own house cleaning business in the Bolinas, Stinson Beach area.
She loved gardening, hiking, traveling, animals, children and oil painting. Since she never married she learned to make repairs to her home and painted it as well. In 2001 she moved to San Rafael. She was a member of the S.P.R.S.I., the I.D.E.S.I. of Novato, the Goldenaires, the Recycled Teenagers and the Larkspur Hiking Club. Nature was her love and she was especially fond of the Point Reyes, Olema and Bolinas areas.
Irene was preceded in death by her siblings, Christina “Tina” Silveira, Anthony Teixeira, Molly Watters, Joseph Teixeira and William Teixeira,Sr. She was the aunt of Irene Langlamet, Tom Teixeira, Richard Teixeira, Elsie Murphy and the late Joe Silveira, William Teixeira,Jr., and Robert Teixeira.
The family is very grateful for the wonderful care she received from her full-time live-in caregiver, Ateca Canayavusa who became the newest family member in the 2 years she cared from Irene.
Irene will be cremated and no services are planned for now.
