Passed away peacefully on June 17, 2016 at age 96. Born in Cedarville, CA on May 25, 1920, Irvene's family moved to Petaluma in their Model A when she was age 8. Irvene attended Liberty School and graduated from Petaluma High School in 1938.
Irvene married Russell Kerbey, who worked at Mare Island and for Maddalena's Dairy Supply, on March 16, 1941. Irvene and Russell spent their lives together, raising their two children, until his passing February 19, 1997.
Love and friendship defined their marriage for 56 years.
Irvene was a homemaker who proudly raised her children, Ellene Gaultney (deceased) and Rhonda Van Patten, and was involved in the daily lives of her grandchildren, Jen Magnusson and Traci Van Patten.
Irvene loved Petaluma and was very active, walking nearly 5 miles per day on her way to and from "coffee club" meetings with her friends. God granted her a long life and wonderful family (Rhonda, Wayne and Traci Van Patten, Steve Gaultney, Jen and Rob Magnusson) who already misses her strength and love.
Private services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran Street, Petaluma, CA 94952. Private Burial
