Isabel Deshler Weichel - WEICHEL, ISABEL DESHLER" Passed away at home on Friday, March 25, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Her courageous twelve year battle against Alzheimer"s disease is over and she is finally at peace. Isabel was born Isabel Deshler on July 21, 1915 in the house her father built in San Francisco. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-six years, Frederick Weichel. Isabel is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Sandra) Weichel of San Francisco, Ronald (Dianne) Weichel of Santa Rosa, Constance Weichel of Rohnert Park and Cynthia Weichel of Santa Rosa, her sister Louise Park of San Francisco, her brother-in-law Edgar Weichel of Riverside, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Isabel co-owned The Flower Shop and later Blossom Lane Florist, both located in downtown Santa Rosa. These businesses allowed her to give expression to her love of the art of floral design. She also taught flower arranging for thirteen years at the Santa Rosa Junior College. After retiring, she was active in local garden clubs and flower arranging classes. Her love of travel took her to over fifty countries around the world and her love of music lasted throughout her life to her final day. Isabel was extremely creative, artistic, independent, and she was a very loving mother. She will be dearly missed.
