J. M. Newton Crouch

September 6, 1926 — October 10, 2011

J. M. Newton Crouch - Jay Crouch passed away on October 10, 2011. He is survived by his wife/companion of 23 years: Mary Coppedge; his adopted daughter Linda Diane Overbay and grandson, Shane Overbay as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was originally from Puxico, Missouri and the last to pass away of a family that had consisted of 5 children (3 boys/2 girls). Starting his working career at the age of 9 plowing fields; many will remember him as a volunteer Sebastopol Fireman (14 years); as a valued employee of Don Dowd Construction (24 years) and lastly as a foreman for Ron Hogue Construction (14 years). Most of us will remember him sitting on his porch alongside Petaluma Ave. smiling and waving to all who passed by and always welcoming to those of us who stopped to talk. Family and friends talk about Jay as a hard working country boy who loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid supporter of the Sebastopol community, loving husband, and a friend to many more.
